Come and Show Me

When we have questions and doubts, fear and anguish, turmoil and temptation…where do we turn?

God tells us in Jeremiah 33:3 to call out to Him and He will show us what we long to know.

  • He will teach us, like a loving father.
  • He will guide us, like a good shepherd.

May these words from the Word be a blessing. Right where you are at.

You are loved.

He who began a good work in each of us is faithful to complete it.

When we knock and ask and seek, we will find.

Come and Show me

Come, and show me your mercy,

As you do for all who love your name.

As pressure and stress bear down on me,

I find joy in your commands.

Your laws are always right;

Help me to understand them so I may live.

My eyes strain to see your rescue,

To see the truth of your promise fulfilled.

I am your servant;

Deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.

Give discernment to me, your servant;

then I will understand your laws.

Then [*he] said, “Don’t be afraid;

Since the first day you began to pray for understanding

And to humble yourself before your God,

Your request has been heard in heaven…

You are very precious to God. Peace!

Be encouraged! Be strong!”

And the one sitting on the throne said,

“Look, I am making everything new!”

And then He said to me,

“Write this down, for what I tell you

Is trustworthy and true.”

Yes, again, I hear these words:

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith.

Be courageous. Be strong.

And do everything with love.

For the entire law and demands of all the prophets

Are based on these two commands:

That I love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind.

And also that I love my neighbor as myself.

The Lord says, “I will guide you along

The best pathway for your life.

I will advise you and watch over you.”

I have been called to live in freedom!

(And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!)

The Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:

Love, joy, peace,

Patience, kindness, goodness

Faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.

There is no law against these things!

I haven’t learned all I should, even yet,

But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be

All that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.

I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing:

Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize

For which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.

Praise the Lord!

For He has shown me the wonders of His unfailing love!

The Lord is my refuge and my shield;

His word is my source of hope.

My heart trusts in you, Oh Lord,

And I am helped!
