The Autumn Reflection

It’s Fall! My favourite season!

(Minus the current plethora of Halloween consumerism that can certainly disperse, please and thank you!)

There is much to be thankful for. There is also much that stirs up weary, angry, anxious thoughts. So what do we do with all this mixed baggage?

It’s a choice. I continue to remind myself this very thing: Take it to the Cross, or carry it into my days and become burdened unnecessarily…

Paul reminds us in Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

How do we stand firm? Putting on the full Armour of God. The shield of faith. The helmet of salvation. The breastplate of righteousness. Taking up the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God).

Declaring God’s faithfulness. Reciting His Words, His Truth. Knowing our identity, our calling, our purposes. These are vital, active stances to find victory in the moment. These are our Armour, alive and engaged!

So, tonight, I’m reflecting. And in doing so, standing firm, fighting the good fight of faith.

Come join me, Friends. You are seen, known, loved.

Grateful is a cozy corner to find

On a cool, crisp day

The leaves have transformed

From green to

And yellow

I feel the still small voice of Emmanuel

Whispering within, “Come

Be too transformed, right here right now

By My love.”

Blessed is my soul as I close my eyes

Inhaling the grace that surrounds me.

The ebb and flow of emotions can come

Will come.

Yet I am settled in peace.

My God has pulled me through the mire

Unstuck my feet from the muck of my own making

Becoming renewed by His love

I cleave to His Promises.

I’m fulfilled in His presence.

My cup overflows.
