The Tears Fall

The tears fall

Drops of sorrow, leaking from my heart.

The tears fall

Joy uncontained, overflowing from my heart.

The tears fall

And try as I may to reconcile

Their audacious presence

I succumb.

Can I rest therein, believing every tear is gathered?

Redeemed?

Beauty is found in the falling whispers of grace.

The spillings of my heart declare allegiance

To the One who knit me together.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Are sheltered in the shadow of His wing.

He hears my every sigh.

He feels my every sorrow.

He births my every wondrous exultation.

Because I know that My Redeemer lives,

I’m free to soar!

Even when the tears fall.
