Waiting and Secure: An Encouraging Word for Toiling Pilgrims
“I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.
I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name…
I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.”
– Revelation 3:8,11
Last night I waited on the Lord
And this is where He led me:
The still waters of His Word
To the Church of Brotherly Love
Where a door has been opened
That no one can shut
A door!
To hear His Word and heed it
To be sanctified and glorified
In the gospel of grace
Where He knows these toiling pilgrims’
Love-led works
Their little strength
Their need
For patient endurance
Oh Lord
You know my works
My little strength
My need for patient endurance
And as I rest in this knowledge
Held
By the Lover of My Soul
His Word continues to stir
And satisfy
Nourishing my spirit
Like a fountain of life
When I am weak
He is strong
His power is perfected in weakness
When I keep His Word
Holding fast in the storm
His love is perfected in obedience
Perfect power
Perfect love
From the One who is faithful
To know me
Love me
Lead me and guide me
The Good Shepherd cares for His sheep
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
Surely my mansion in glory awaits
And my heart rejoices
Because His return is very soon
I will endure
Because He endured
I will hold fast
Because He will never let me go
Boasting in my weakness
He shows Himself strong on my behalf
Oh the steadfast love of the Lord!
My heart is settled
Established
Secure
Dear fellow toiling pilgrims:
Be settled
Established
Secure
You are seen
Known
Led
And Loved
Maranatha
